Qualitative Research Methods in Language Studies will give HDR students the opportunity to explore, experience and critique qualitative research methods used within applied linguistics, linguistics and language and culture research, such as case study, ethnography, participant observation, interviews, questionnaires and discourse analysis. The course will examine notions of validity and what counts as evidence in qualitative research approaches.
